Retirements
Horses live a long time. We have been fortunate thus far to be able to provide comfort and stability to our former partners, and take great pride in their longevity. And, while an animal may be retired from one career, we migrate them into new duties on the farm (trail horse, rearing weanlings, companion for injured horse or an excitable maiden mare, etc.). So, no horse is truly retired even if they pass 30! Our horses are happy. Below, Sweetheart and Maestro show those weanlings (Wild Thyme & Longstride) who's boss. But, they're favorite task is hay sampler!
Sweetheart (aka. Sheza Dignitary, 1985 - 2016)

Maestro KS (1992-2017) gray Andalusian-Lipizzan cross, saving the king from peril, lower level dressage, weanling and young horse-sitter. |
